| Looking towards Berry Ridge in the Rain and Clouds |
Winner Creek has an off shot called Upper Winner Creek. For about 8 miles it follows a valley to Berry Ridge. As you can tell from the photo, it was a very wet day and the trail is thin with lots of over hanging grasses and bush. Kim Blommel hiked with me and we followed the upper trail several miles until I felt like a squishy, wet sponge. Hiking just isn't too enjoyable in those conditions so I asked Kim if we could turnaround. I may have to break my own rule of not traveling in the same place more than once and hike this trail to the end in the fall when the weather and the berries are better.
